Hafez Ghanem, Vice President, Middle East and North Africa, The World Bank

Euromoney will return to Doha on 6-7 December 2016 for the fifth installment of The Euromoney Qatar Conference, officially co-hosted by Qatar Central Bank. The forum will give participants a unique opportunity to learn about the latest developments in Qatar’s financial and economic development.

Our line-up of senior economists and financiers will discuss the regional and global geopolitical outlook. Are regional risks correctly understood by the global markets? What will the new US Presidency mean for the Gulf? Will Brexit have an impact? We will examine the macro-economic headwinds and analyse how Qatar is reacting to them. What is the future direction of hydrocarbon demand, supply and pricing? What will the introduction of VAT mean for Qatar’s businesses? On day two will focus on regional and international portfolio investment strategy, expanding Qatar’s digital ecosystem and developing Qatar’s real and growing SME sector.

The conference is the only event in Qatar’s financial calendar with the senior government line up of the Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Central Bank Governor. The international speakers and high calibre debates will give attendees actionable insight on today and tomorrow’s financial reality. We look forward to seeing you in Doha.
