The Euromoney Lebanon Conference 2017

Stability, growth and reform: the new dynamics of Lebanon’s economy?

Euromoney returned to Beirut on the 15 May 2017 for its 3rd annual Euromoney Lebanon Conference. The event brought together over 300 high-level government officials, investors, financiers, business leaders and many of Lebanon’s leading institutions to explore new opportunities and examine Lebanon’s changing role in the new global financial landscape.

In the light of the appointment of the new administration we examined the economic impact of domestic political stability, the challenges still facing Lebanon’s economy and in particular the prospects for the financial sector.

Throughout the day our audience heard first-hand from business leaders, experts and commentators on the challenges and opportunities for growth. The opening panel will set the scene with a global macro outlook discussion, examining the new global political-economic paradigms and what they mean to Lebanon’s economy.

Leading local and international players analysed the growing opportunities in Lebanon - from the development of its hydrocarbon sector to how Lebanon can scale its ‘super-service’ economic model with a focus on re-energising the tourism and hospitality sectors.

We were honoured that, for the first time, HE Mr. Riad Salamé participated in a live one-on-one on-stage interview with Euromoney. The Governor of the Banque du Liban outlined on his policies, strategy and plans for Lebanon’s financial sector and the wider economy.

Euromoney would like to thank the conference sponsors, speakers and participants for their continued support and we are delighted with the success of the event overall. In particular we would like to thank all of our partners and sponsors without whose support the conference would not have been possible.

We look forward to welcoming you all to the event again in 2018.
