Sherine El Shorbagi has 20 years of experience in management, policy and programme development, foreign cooperation, business advisory services and sustainability practices. Sherine has gained a diversified portfolio in networking and exposure to industrial operating businesses, regulatory authority, and extended stakeholders. Sherine drives the development of policies and engagements with international organisation partners, coordinates strategic engagements with partner institutions and manages key international relations operations. Sherine has been engaged in the strategic planning, annual work planning, and budgeting of the organisation. Working for 14 years in the Industrial Modernisation Centre (IMC); affiliated with Ministry of Trade and Industry, Sherine was leading several units and programmes, related to sustainable development, export development, policy development, value chain development, programmes for inclusive business and responsible business. One of the latest and successful achievements is Creative Egypt, the platform for the development and trading of creative industries and the development of Africa export strategy and doubling export strategy with the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Sherine is currently the chief executive officer of the Export Development Authority (EDA), responsible for formulating, managing and setting up export development programmes and strategic policies for supporting the Egyptian export sector and facilitating the business environment through EDA’s executive sectors: export strategies and policies sector, export capacity building sector and export promotion sector. Sherine has a master of public policy and administration from AUC, in addition to diversified management and sustainable development coaching and trainings.
