David Jin is Chairman and President, Northeast Asia and Greater China of Harman International (HAR), the premier connected car systems, audio and visual products, enterprise automation solutions and connected services group serving the automotive, consumer and enterprises worldwide.

Before joining Harman International in January 2009, David Jin served as President and Chief Executive Officer, Greater China of Philips Healthcare where he more than doubled business as well profitability in his four year tenure. Previously, he was Head of ABB Motor and Machine unit in China and President of ABB Motor Company (China) where he turned around a money losing joint venture from 20% negative EBIT to more than 20% positive EBIT against industry average is around 4 to 5%, and in the meantime more than tripled revenue. Before that, he was Managing Director of Greater China Region of Carnaud Metalbox where he led its entry into China by established a number of JVs. He also spent five years at Otis, United Technologies where he was Director of Planning & Development Asia, and President of Otis Shanghai. He led development of joint ventures and acquisitions throughout Asia Pacific region. He began his professional career in the US with AT Kearny as Management Consultant.


Before going to the US, he spent eight years in China working for Shanghai Light Machinery Co. During his career, Mr. Jin served as board director of Shanghai Otis Elevator Company, CarnaudMetalbox Shanghai Co Ltd., CarnaudMetalbox Beijing Company Ltd., China Schindler Elevator Company Ltd., Philips-Neusoft Medical Systems Co. (Vice Chairman), Goldway Medical System Co. Ltd. (Chairman).


He served as a Director of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment. He also earned prestigious Magnolia Award from the Shanghai Municipal Government. He currently services Chairman or Director of a number of Harman entities in China and in Northeast Asia.

He holds both Bachelor’s and MBA degrees from the American University in Washington, D.C.
