Laurent Machureau is deputy general manager of Région Ile-de-France, in charge of finance, audit and management control. After obtaining a masters in engineering from Ecole Polytechnique, he obtained an economist-statistician diploma from the National School for Statistics and Economic Administration (ENSAE) and graduated from Ecole Nationale d’Administration in 2001. After initially teaching microeconomics at ENSAE, Laurent has held several positions in the French public sector, mainly within the Ministry of Finance where he was associate director in charge of transportation, housing and sustainable development before joining Région Ile-de-France in June 2013. With 12 million inhabitants, Région Ile-de-France accounts for 12% of the country’s population and 30% of its GDP. Rated equivalent to the French Republic (‘AA’ / ’AA’), Région Ile-de-France is a regular borrower in the capital markets through euro and foreign currency public and private issuance (EUR5.1 billion public debt outstanding). Région Île-de-France successfully issued three green sustainable bonds in 2012 (EUR350 million), April 2014 (EUR600 million) and April 2015 (EUR500 million).
