Doris Herrera‐Pol is global head of capital markets at the World Bank. Her team is responsible for designing the World Bank's funding strategy and managing its annual multi‐currency funding programme in global money, capital and derivatives markets, including the design and launch of new products, such as the World Bank's Green Bonds. She also oversees liquidity management, execution of ALM transactions, and the management of relationships with investors and rating agencies. Her team also structures currency, interest rate, catastrophe and weather hedges for clients, and provides clients’ advisory and execution services in areas such as funding and liability management. Ms Herrera‐Pol is a member of the World Bank's treasury’s oversight committee for new financial services and new clients as well as a member of the Institute for International Finance (IIF)’s Credit Rating Advisory Committee. From 2002 to 2007, Ms Herrera‐Pol headed the team responsible for the Bank’s plain‐vanilla debt products, including global bonds and emerging market bond issues. From 1997 to 2002, she headed the team responsible for designing and delivering financial products to World Bank clients. Previously, she worked with the World Bank's funding and investor relations programs in several regions. She also served as advisor to World Bank clients on international funding and liability management. Before joining the World Bank, Ms Herrera‐Pol conducted sovereign debt negotiations for the Dominican Republic.
