The Greater Mekong Investment Forum 2017

The 6th Greater Mekong Investment Forum came to a successful close with over 800 business leaders, investors, government officials and industry experts across over 20 countries in attendance to discuss the latest economic development in the Greater Mekong Subregion. This continued high turnout reflected the interest and optimism that international investors have for Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

We were delighted to once again have the support of HE Veerathai Santiprabhob, Governor of Bank of Thailand, who delivered a keynote address focusing on forging greater financial connectivity in the GMS.

Throughout the day’s programme, our guest speakers examined the latest trade and investment climate in the GMS, opportunities available to the private sector, and sector-focused discussions.

Topics included:

- The GMS and Its Major Trade Partners

- Digitalisation and E-commerce Boom in the GMS

- Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises’ Access to Funding

- Cross-border Projects – Power and Infrastructure

- Eastern Economic Corridor Development and Implications on the GMS hosted by Bangkok Bank

- Myanmar Banking and Investment: Success through Challenge hosted by Siam Commercial Bank

- Experiences and Challenges in Greater Mekong Expansion hosted by Bank of Ayudhya

Euromoney would like to thank all sponsors, speakers and delegates for helping to make the Greater Mekong Investment Forum such a huge success and an annual fixture.
