The Central and Eastern European Forum was held on 17-18 January 2012 at the Hilton Vienna. It was an extremely busy event with over 1100 delegates attending from both inside and outside the region to network, meet new contacts, and catch up with old friends. This well established annual gathering really has become the must have date for your diary, and the best way to start the new year.

The delegates heard opening keynote speeches from Ewald Nowotny, Governor, Oesterreichische Nationalbank and Adnan Bali, Member of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Isbank as well as three discussion panels populated by government ministers, central bank governors and experts whose views on the future of the region set the scene perfectly for the rest of the days’ events. The remainder of the eleven editorially driven panels covered a variety of topics ranging from ‘The Future of CEE Banking’ to ‘Russia’. In addition to these sessions the conference offered sponsored workshops, interviews and country focussed roundtables scattered throughout the conference proceedings. The frank and open discussions that took place during all sessions were refreshing and certainly captured the attention of the audience.
