Schuldschein beyond Europe – The International Schuldschein Forum returns to Frankfurt
The seventh Euromoney International Schuldschein Forum reconvened on 19 March in Frankfurt. Over 130 delegates from across the Schuldschein market met to network, do business and address key industry topics on stage.
This year the focus was on the growth and future prospects of this rapidly internationalising debt instrument. What began more than ten years ago as a safe, steady investment product for local German 'Sparkassen' has morphed into funding vehicle for European corporates large and small; for bank investors and asset managers; and with deals arranged by an increasingly diverse club of international banks.
And, on how technology is helping the market expand and become more liquid. However, it is still to be seen whether issuance platforms will lead to greater deal volume and maximise efficiency and transparency.
