Event Overview

2019 is set to be a historically significant year for the eurozone and the European Union. No one needs reminding that March will signify the formal exit of the UK from the EU. In May, the European Parliament elections threaten to fundamentally change the institution’s make up, which would have consequences across the decision-making hierarchy of the EU. Populism's rise across the continent shows no signs of slowing. In Germany we are at the beginning of the end of the Merkel era. All this, combined with a business cycle that could be nearing its peak, the end of the European Central Bank asset purchase programme and rising rates, spells a challenging few years ahead for the European capital markets.

On 5 November 2019 GlobalCapital will host the inaugural Euro Capital Markets Conference in Berlin. Bringing together financial, public sector and corporate issuers, investors, representatives from the sponsoring banks and government officials to discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The conference will debate key questions around political and macroeconomic instability, the implications of Brexit on the euro capital markets, the impact of Trump’s trade policy with China and Europe, Capital Markets Union, the forthcoming European Parliament elections, Banking Union and much more.

Will you join us to get an insight into the future of the markets in these turbulent and uncertain times?
