The Netherlands Conference

The inaugural Netherlands Conference took place at the Amsterdam Marriot Hotel on 9 March 2016. It brought together senior policymakers, bankers, economists, issuers and institutional investors from the Netherlands and abroad to discuss the important issues, challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

It featured a series of live keynote interviews, interactive workshops and dynamic panel discussions. Please see our conference agenda for some additional information.

The discussion acknowledged the challenges faced in the Netherlands and abroad but the conference set an optimistic tone and provided an insightful and informative experience for the high profile audience.

Just some of the topics included in the discussion were:

- The global low rates, low growth environment: opportunities and risks for the Netherlands
- Regulatory change: the impact on Dutch banks and financial markets, and how they adapt
- The financing of Dutch industry: Efficient funding of a global reach
- Maximising the Dutch investor base and its privileged status
- Capital Markets Union and the Dutch financial centre
- Capitalising on the trend for going ‘green’ as pioneers of sustainability in finance
- Dutch public sector issuers and the ECB purchase programme
