Amal Enan is executive director of the Egyptian-American Enterprise Fund (EAEF). EAEF is a private corporation established in 2013 post the Arab Spring to revitalise the Egyptian economy. The fund is seeded with authorised capital of up to USD 300 million from the United States government.
Amal started her career at EFG-Hermes and continued to build her investment experience at the International Finance Corporation where she was an associate investment officer at the infrastructure department. In 2010, Amal took up the challenge of joining the Ministry of Finance as an economist in the Minister’s office. There, she formulated reform policies, drafted sections of the state budget and negotiated with international organisations on matters that touch the lives of millions of Egyptians and address the nation’s most pressing challenges.
Amal received an MBA degree from Harvard Business School, a masters in environment and development from the London School of Economics and a bachelors in economics from Cairo University.
