The 3rd Annual Euromoney China Debt Capital Markets Summit successfully concluded on 23 March. Drawing over 500 international and Chinese borrowers and investors, the summit is seen as one of the most important annual gatherings discussing the opportunities and challenges facing the development of the Chinese bond markets.
The day started with a keynote interview with Søren Elbech, treasurer of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). Søren shared with the audience how AIIB’s future funding programme might look like and its role in financing China’s Belt and Road initiative.
Plenary discussions followed focusing on a wide range of issues including the internationalisation of China’s bond market, foreign currency funding for Chinese issuers, capital instruments for financial institutions, panda bond issuance, accessing China’s onshore bond market, and the development of the green bond market.
For Chinese borrowers, this meeting provided a thorough analysis of the global offshore debt funding markets and the onshore market’s transition to market pricing.
For international participants, this meeting offered updates on the latest regulatory developments and reforms which have allowed borrowers and investors to access China’s vast onshore bond market.
Euromoney would like to thank all sponsors, speakers and delegates for helping make this year's China Debt Capital Markets Summit a success.
