H.E. Mr Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail has held many positions in the investment, banking, insurance, aviation and real estate development. H.E.’s career began in 1989, where his accomplishments are evident across the country, not the least from running one of the most successful real estate development companies in Saudi Arabia, RAFAL, before becoming the Minister of Housing in 2015. H.E. Mr Al-Hogail has multiple board positions in Saudi including Jazeera Bank, Wafa Insurance Company, Jazeera Capital, Nas Holding Company, Credit Suisse Saudi Arabia and Rafal Real Estate Development. He is also chairman of Saudi Arabia Refinance Company (SAREC), chairman of Real Estate Development Fund (REDF), and many other non-profit authorities. H.E. Mr Al-Hogail, as the Minister of Housing, has launched the most ambitious housing plan the country has ever known aiming at delivering over 280,000 housing products of affordable housing projects starting from 2017 and adding a similar target each year. In addition, he is responsible for reforming financial support to Saudi citizens housing products by engaging the financial sector and implementing a sustainable business model for the Real Estate Development Fund, pushing towards doubling the financial sector contribution to the mortgage market. Additionally under his leadership, the first PPP housing projects on the private sector lands and public sector lands were launched using schemes tailored to Saudi Arabia and helped in achieving its goals for Vision2030. H.E. Mr Al-Hogail gradated from King Saud University with BA in accounting, gained his CPA certification in 1999 from New Mexico in the United States, his MBA from University of Illinois and Programmes for Executive Development (PED) from IMD in Switzerland.
