Michelle Meyer is a managing director and head of US economics at Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research. Based in New York, she provides timely analysis of the high‐frequency economic data and Federal Reserve policy announcements to the sales force and traders. She runs the firm’s macro model and is responsible for coordinating the medium‐term economic forecasts. Meyer writes about the broad US economy, but with a particular focus on the US housing market, where she has become highly recognised for her outlook. She is a frequent commentator on CNBC and Bloomberg TV and is often cited in print and online media. Before joining BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research in May 2010, Meyer was a senior US economist at Barclays Capital and she started her career on the US economics team at Lehman Brothers. Meyer earned a bachelors degree (magna cum laude) and a masters degree, both in economics, at Boston University. She was named by Forbes Magazine as one of 30 under 30 in finance in 2011 and a Rising Star by the Women’s Forum for Economy and Society in 2012. Meyer and team have earned the #2 spot in economics by the Institutional Investor All America Fixed-Income Research Survey.
