Karim Bendouma is a director and head of US inflation at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Karim joined BofA Merrill in 2015, where he is responsible for managing the firm’s US inflation books, cash and derivatives trading business. Before his current role, Karim spent more than seven years with Deutsche Bank including his most recent position as head of US inflation, where he successfully grew the business, achieving top rankings in Risk magazine. During his tenure with Deutsche, he also spent time on the quantitative credit strategy desk. Karim began his professional career in the French Army, where he was a section leader of 30 paratroopers. Following his service in the army, he spent several months working in AXA’s risk management group in Paris. Karim holds a bachelors degree in applied mathematics and economics from the Ecole Polytechnique in France, and a masters of science in financial mathematics from Stanford University. He also speaks fluent French and Spanish.
