UK Lebanon Tech Hub

Colm Reilly is chief executive officer of the UK Lebanon Tech Hub and Cyro Research. Colm has substantial experience enabling public and private sector organisations to deliver substantial benefit by improving project performance. He works in technology-rich environments on complex project start-ups, turn-rounds and change programmes, and has accelerated system and product developments. Over the past 10 years, Colm has worked with a range of government clients to support their economic development objectives by working directly with companies to develop and expand their regional footprints. His first accelerator – Propel was operated over a decade ago and since then he has worked with the best practitioners such as Babson, UCL, Stanford and MIT over the past years. Colm has focussed on entrepreneurs and the ecosystems that make them work. He has established and sold three companies and has operated entrepreneur programmes in the UK and Ireland, Scandinavia and Middle East. Colm has also started and exited three companies in the past – Eureto, Aviareto and Lucid. His clients have included UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), JETRO (Japan), the State of British Columbia, Department of Enterprise and Trade (Ireland), and the Central Bank of Lebanon acting as CEO of the UK Lebanon Tech Hub. For these organisations he has operated a number of accelerators and start-up environments including Sirus, UKLTH and Andromeda. Colm’s recent publications look at the challenges of how companies can scale, the differential between employment and wealth creation and why innovation is locked down in large companies and the need for smaller companies in this role.
