Sami Gotrane

Head of Treasury and Financial Markets


Sami Gotrane was appointed managing director, member of the executive committee and head of treasury and capital markets of the Société de Financement Local (SFIL) and member of the supervisory board of its 100% subsidiary, the Caisse Française de Financement Local (CAFFIL), in February 2013 - the new public bank in charge of the financing of the French local public sector. He graduated from Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC, Paris) in 1987 and IEP in 1988 (Institute of Political Science, Paris) and holds a PhD in finance from Paris Dauphine. From September 2009 to February 2013, Sami Gotrane was senior adviser at Caisse des Dépôts in charge of the financial sector. He was managing director and head of credit portfolio management and global research for Natixis Asset Management from 2005 to 2009. Before joining Natixis, Sami Gotrane has been head of global credit portfolio mangement for HSBC Asset Management Limited and head of fixed income research and credit sales for Crédit Lyonnais-Calyon. From 1989 to 1999, Sami Gotrane held different positions at Paribas Capital Markets (London) including head of Yankee bonds trading desk and hybrid equity origination. During this period, Sami Gotrane built one of the first bond credit research teams within a European bank. He has been an associate professor at Paris Dauphine University since 1998 and has been a member of the investors’ councils of Moody’s and S&P from 2005 to 2009. He is the author of Pratique de l’Analyse Financière des Etablissements de Crédit (Banking Financial Analysis).
