Mirela Dima is the head of prudential regulation division, regulation and licensing department at the National Bank of Romania. Mirela is responsible for the development of regulations for own funds, supervision on consolidated basis and capital requirements for banks using internal models. Mirela was also in charge of the development of the new legislative and regulatory framework for covered bond issuance activity in Romania. Mirela joined the National Bank of Romania in 2001 and since then she has been involved in managing projects related to transposing Basel rules in for Romanian regulatory framework and adapting prudential banking regulations to the IFRS implementation in Romania. Mirela holds a PhD in economics from the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest (2010).
