Raluca Nicoleascu is the executive director of balance sheet and portfolio management and has responsibility for managing the assets and liabilities of the bank, including funding and liquidity portfolio management. She successfully guided the bank through the very challenging years subsequent to the global financial crisis. With her involvement Raiffeisen has become the largest issuer of bonds by a financial institution on the local market over the last several years. Before joining Raiffeisen Bank in 2001, Raluca Nicolescu worked with different banking groups in brokerage, custody and risk management areas. She started her career with the Ministry of Commerce in foreign trade. From 2001 to 2004, Raluca Nicolescu led the corporate credit product team responsible for the oil and energy industry. In 2004, she moved to the risk area, having been responsible for setting-up the internal rating agency of the bank. Raluca Nicolescu has been a member of the covered bonds working group on developing the needed local legislation that was just passed at the end of 2015. She has an executive MBA from the University of Sheffield and an international fixed income and derivatives (IFID) certificate from the International Capital Market Association. Raluca has been a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Romania society since 2002 and has been a CFA charterholder since 2003.
