Reto Faber

Head of Direct Custody and Clearing, EMEA


Reto Faber is head of Direct Custody and Clearing (DCC) in EMEA and a member of the DCC global executive team.  Based in London and with over 30 years of banking experience, Reto returned to Europe in 1998 from New York to help manage the transition of Citi’s Transaction Services business to the Euro. Subsequently Reto managed CTS’s intermediaries relationship management team for EMEA. Reto currently manages Citi’s DCC business in EMEA, with a current footprint of 35 sub-custody markets in the region. In this role he has overseen several large scale Citi initiatives including the acquisition of ING’s CEE custody business in 2014 and more recently the successful implementation of T2S earlier this year when Citi became the first DCP to be live. Raised and educated in Vienna, Reto holds an MA in international relations from Yale University.
