Ms Ratchada Anantavrasilpa has been working as a senior financial sector specialist at the World Bank office, Bangkok since 2008. Her major responsibility is monitoring the financial sector development in the South East Asian region including Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand. World Bank’s development projects for the financial sector in these countries aim for long-term economic and financial stability and sustainability. In the past eight years at the World Bank, she actively participated in several programs in the finance and market global practice including: the financial sector assessment program (FSAP) focusing on state-owned commercial banks (SOCBs), the corporate governance - report on the observance of standards and codes (CG ROSC) program, corporate governance practices in state owned enterprises (SOEs), SME financing, microfinance, financial literacy, financial reporting for financial institutions, etc. She has provided technical input in the banking sector development component in the Laos poverty reduction support operation (PRSO) series 2 & 3, the financial sector section in the economic monitor publication for Cambodia, Laos and Thailand, and the financial sector section in the country policy and institution assessment (CPIA) program in Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Thailand. Recently four technical assistance (TA) programs were completed with success; three FSAP follow-up programs in Cambodia, and solvency modernization program for Thai insurance industry. Currently she has developed a programmatic TA to promote sound, sustainable, and inclusive financial sector in Cambodia, Laos PDR, Malaysia, and Thailand. Previously, Ms Ratchada worked as a foreign exchange dealer for eight years in a Thai bank and as an operations manager in its Hong Kong branch for six years. Her areas of banking expertise included foreign exchange management, risk management, branch management, asset liability management, compliance, accounting and auditing. Under her responsibility as an operations manager, the branch maintained the second-best CAMEL rating for six consecutive years. Besides her formal career in the financial sector, she was a director in the CFA Society Thailand from 2009 to 2013.
