Microfund For Women

Muna Sukhtian is currently managing director of Microfund for Women (MFW), which targets low-income entrepreneurs who are unable to access credit from conventional financing institutions. Today, MFW's 688 employees' serve 133,947 clients, 97% of whom are women, through 55 branches across Jordan. The organisation has received regional and international awards. Muna was recently named co-chair of the Women’s World Banking Board of Trustees. She is a director at GMS Holdings, a diversified family-owned company. She is also a board member of CGAP, Queen Rania Award for Excellence in Education, the Queen Rania Teacher Academy, The Royal Film Commission and the Shoman Foundation. Muna holds a bachelors degree from Harvard University and an MBA from INSEAD. Muna Sukhtian started her career as a management consultant in the US before returning home to Jordan work in her family’s pharmaceutical business. With a passion for social service, she then served as chief of staff to Her Majesty Queen Rania.
