Robert Pakpahan

Director General, Budget Financing and Risk Management

Mr Robert Pakpahan is the director general of budget financing and risk management commencing on 27 November 2013 (formerly named director general of debt management). He is responsible for managing government budget risks and public debt of Government of Indonesia, determining the fiscal support for public private partnership (PPP) and infrastructure projects, establishing strategy to finance the annual state budget deficit, and executing the financing needs either through loans, or issuance of government securities.  Before his current duties, he served as director of business process transformation at Directorate General of Taxes from December 2006 to January 2011. Subsequently, since January 2011, he was promoted as the minister’s expert staff of government revenue.  Mr Robert Pakpahan was born in Tanjung Balai Karimun, the Riau Islands, Indonesia and he obtained his bachelor degree from State College of Accountancy in 1987. He continued his study and received PhD in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA in 1998.
