The Asian Borrowers Forum

Date: 23 September 2010
Venue: Marriott, London, UK
Download to Outlook

On 23 September, the inaugural Asian Borrowers Forum in London brought together 18 senior funding officials from some of Asia’s leading borrowers.

Euromoney was delighted to have Thierry de Longuemar, Treasurer of the Asian Development Bank, open the forum with a keynote speech on ADB’s mandate, their role as a triple-A supranational based in Asia and its role in facilitating the development of the Asian local currency bond markets.

The forum was also a timely platform for Roberto B. Tan, Treasurer of the Philippines, who shared his thoughts on Philippines’ first synthetic peso bond which received a big response from the global emerging market investor base and is seen as having opened the door for other issuers in the region to use the structure.
