China Debt Capital Markets Summit 2016

The 2nd Annual Euromoney China Debt Capital Markets Summit successfully concluded on 2 June. Drawing over 500 international and Chinese borrowers and investors, the summit is now recognised as one of the most important annual gatherings to discuss the developments of the Chinese bond markets.

Attendees were delighted to hear from Pan Gongsheng, deputy governor of the People’s Bank of China, and Zhou Rongfang, general manager of the Shanghai Clearing House, who delivered extremely insightful keynotes at the event.

For Chinese borrowers, this meeting provided a thorough analysis of the global offshore debt funding markets and the onshore market’s transition to market pricing.

For international participants, this meeting offered updates on the latest regulatory developments and reforms which have allowed borrowers and investors to access China’s vast onshore bond market.

Some of this year’s discussion topics included:
- How worrying is the cut on China’s credit outlook?
- Is volatility slowing the pace of capital market reforms in China?
- What role can global markets play in financing China’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative?
- Opportunities in China's panda bond market
- The growth of China’s green bond market
- Bank capital funding in the China context
- Globalisation of the China securitisation market
- Is access to the Chinese onshore market a compelling investment story?
- Offshore funding trends and pricing considerations for Chinese borrowers

Euromoney would like to thank all sponsors, speakers and delegates for helping make this year's China Debt Capital Markets Summit a success.
