We were delighted with the Euromoney Canada Forum this year. The event gathered a highly targeted audience of institutional investors and issuers from across the credit curve to hear the keynote speeches, editorially driven panel discussions, sponsored workshops, and individual interviews.
Conference Director Andrew Lennon interviews The Hon. Dwight Duncan, Minister of Finance, Government of Ontario
The audience saw keynote speeches and interviews from:The Hon. Jim Prentice, Senior Executive Vice President and Vice Chairman, CIBC; The Hon. Dwight Duncan, Minister of Finance and Chair of the Management Board of the Cabinet, Government of Ontario; and Nicolas Véron, Senior Fellow, Bruegel, and Visiting Fellow, Peterson Institute for International Economics. All of which were extremely popular with the audience due to their frank and poignant comments.
The call for an election just over a week before the conference made for an interesting talking point throughout the discussions and interviews, and certainly changed the shape of the agenda at that stage.
The panel discussions addressed many areas key to the future of Canada and its financial markets, including: public sector borrowing, infrastructure financing methods, and the place of Canada in the new international financial architecture. Please see the final agenda for further details.
Between the sessions on stage the delegates, speakers and sponsors alike took full advantage of the networking opportunities, meeting old friends and making new contacts with a view to generating new business for 2011 and beyond.
Euromoney would like to thank the audience for attending, and a special thanks to all our speakers and sponsors for making the event possible. We look forward to re-convening in Toronto next April to re-assess the health of the Canadian capital markets.
